The operating costs of the association are supported by a voluntary monthly payroll deduction from the active membership. All permanent employees of the Los Angeles County Fire Department are eligible for membership. The cost is $12 per month and is tax deductible. For enrollment assistance contact your Battalion Director.
The Los Angeles County Firemen's Benefit & Welfare Association is a non-profit organization founded and administered by its members. These members include both active and retired employees of the LACoFD.

The main purpose of this fund is to provide social and recreational activities for members such as Straight Streams magazine, the L.A. County Firefighter's Picnic, subsidy for a portion of retirees admission to qualified retirement functions, and when available,discounted admission to a number of local and national entertainment venues.
